WINDPOWER Public Education Day!
The good times are rolling in the wind industry! Once again, the U.S. leads the world in wind energy production, generating more than 190 million megawatt-hours (MWh) last year alone – enough to power 17.5 million typical American homes. And the U.S. Department of Labor has named wind turbine technician the country’s fastest growing job!
It’s an exciting time in the wind energy industry, and we want to share it with you!
The AWEA WINDPOWER 2016 Conference & Exhibition will be attended by thousands of industry professionals and experts from May 23rd to May 26th. In the spirit of our theme, Generation Wind, we invite students, faculty, and the general public to join us for Public Education Day on Thursday, May 26th.
From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., students and faculty can show their academic ID to enter at no cost in halls F-J of the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. Members of the public wanting to learn more about wind energy are also welcome with a $10 contribution to the Power of Wind community. This special opportunity is to encourage Generation Wind to take action in support of clean, green, homegrown energy!
