Breakout sessions will allow for peer-to-peer feedback; bring your best stories and prepare for real-world adaptable role-playing exercises. We’ll also examine the roots of opposition and how to stop it in its tracks. We’ll discuss steps that researchers and skilled practitioners say can be decisive when introducing communities to wind energy, and how to talk to prospective wind farm hosts in ways that truly resonate. Cliff Johnson of the National Journal Leadership Council will keynote on first-person testimonials and “advocate profiling” techniques used by the National Federation of Independent Business and others. AWEA will demonstrate new industry-wide tools, and take requests for further joint resources to help gain public acceptance.
