Wind on the Wires
2- Wind on the WiresWind on the Wires’ mission is to overcome the barriers to bringing wind energy to market in the Midwest. WOW is the primary advocate for state-level wind energy policy and regional transmission in the Midwest, and works with system operators, regulators and policy-makers to shape the “rules of the road” to better accommodate clean energy sources. Center for Renewable Energy

It was created with initial funding through the U.S. Department of Energy, and has three major functional areas:  1) supporting the renewable energy major at Illinois State University; 2) serving the Illinois renewable energy community by providing information to the public; 3) and encouraging applied research on renewable energy at Illinois State University and through collaborations with other universities.
