Whether you're interested in directly supporting our exhibitors on the exhibition floor, supporting the logistics team, or directly assisting our speakers and moderators within the session rooms. Attend the WINDPOWER 2010 Conference & Exhibition by becoming a conference volunteer. Volunteering not only allows you to meet and mingle with other wind energy industry professionals, it allows you to attend conference sessions and other events in exchange for your work.
Getting involved in AWEA will not only benefit the future of our industry, but will also help advance your career. Consider the following benefits:
Work 14 - 16 hours and
Receive a complimentary full conference registration ($650 - $1250), so it's equivalent to getting paid approximately $46 - $89/hour
Ability to attend the sessions and listen to presentations after volunteer responsibilities are taken care of
Receive 2 half days "off" during the conference

Accessibility to continental breakfasts, lunches, exhibit hall, conference sessions, session handouts, Monday's Kick-Off Party & Concert ticket, and receptions that occur during the conference
Types of Volunteer Opportunities:
Sessions(60+ slots will be available)
Will assist within the session rooms doing things such as setting up speaker tent cards, collecting Q&A cards, and workin with moderators.
Assist temps with scanning attendee badges upon entry, passing out handouts, distributing session evaluations, collecting evaluation forms at the end of each session, removing extra handouts, as well as any other needs the Conference Staff may have.

Logistics
Will assist with logistical items such as checking on committee meeting rooms, refreshing the literature distribution area, monitoring cyber cafe areas, ensuring proper sponsor signage is displayed during food functions, and other projects as necessary.
Please note all positions will be assigned by AWEA.

Expenses Associated with Volunteering:
AWEA does not reimburse volunteers for travel, lodging and other expenses associated with volunteering for AWEA. Please keep this in mind when contemplating your volunteer commitment.
Please note we require credit card information to ensure your commitment. There is an Administration Fee of $150 for those that fail to show up on-site.
As a volunteer, you should:
Attend and fully participate in all scheduled volunteer meetings and/or activities
Be open and willing to learn from your fellow volunteers and conference staff
Be knowledgeable in the area for which you are volunteering; you don't need to be an expert, but a general understanding of the duties you will be performing is very helpful
Be familiar with AWEA's goals and mission
Be open to new ideas and ready to share experiences
Participate with energy and commitment to the volunteer experience

For the fourth year in a row, the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA) is delighted to offer scholarships in the American Wind Energy Association Educational Scholarship Program. AWEA is now accepting applications for those interested in attending the WINDPOWER 2010 Conference & Exhibition in Dallas, Texas. The event will be held May 23-26, 2010.
