Record Breaking U.S. Wind Industry Growth
The United States wind energy industry installed 5,249 MW in 2007 and is expected to add more than 7,500 MW in 2008. In order to produce 20% of the nation's power by 2030, the industry will have to ramp up in the next decade to be able to install 16,000 MW each year. The aggressive growth the wind industry is experiencing results in opportunities for members of the industry and new entrants alike in supplying and servicing this new market.
