Morning Run

It's not what you know, it's who you know!  Whether you've been in the industry for decades or are just starting out, networking is key to your professional and personal success.  WINDPOWER includes a variety of ways you can connect with fellow participants - small and large group settings, formal and informal events - there's something for everyone!

  • WINDPOWER kicks off with the Opening Reception on Monday evening, this year on Discovery Green, an urban park conveniently located directly across from the convention center.
  • Wrap up the show day on Tuesday with a Happy Hour while exploring hundreds of exhibit booths.
  • Interact with 100+ ePoster authors during the Poster Reception on Wednesday afternoon.

Tuesday and Wednesday evenings are open for you to create your own plans or attend corporate events, but for those looking for an informal networking opportunity we will have Meet Ups each evening at a local restaurant or venue.

Run Like the Wind

Networking doesn't just happen in the evening!  "Sweat-working" is the latest healthy way to connect with other wellness-minded attendees and AWEA staff.  Join the Run Like the Wind morning run on Wednesday morning before the show day begin to benefit the Wind Solar Alliance. Sign up to run while registering or add to your existing registration in the Registration Resource Center.

WSA thanks Avangrid, ConnectGEN, EDPR and Pattern Energy for their generous sponsorship of the fun run.

Community Service Project

Expand your industry contacts while making a positive impact on our host city.  Networking with other attendees during the community service project activities not only does good but feels good too!

We are partnering with the Arbor Day Foundation via their Community Tree Restoration Initiative to restore trees lost to Hurricane Harvey. Donate to this project while registering or add to your existing registration in the Registration Resource Center.

Be sure to stop by the (Leave a) Legacy Lounge onsite during the conference to find out more about this year's service project.

Golf Outing

Come play golf with Suzlon and support the WSA (Wind and Solar Alliance) formerly the Wind Energy Foundation. Tickets are availabble for purchase here.

Committee Meetings

Committee meetings are an important part of the WINDPOWER activities and not only guide the direction of AWEA's work but also provide small group networking and thought leadership opportunities with individuals in similar segments of the industry.  Attendance restrictions apply.
