AWEA has an Event Sustainability Policy that helps us create event experiences that embody and inspire our core value “We (Heart) Wind Energy.” Each year we engage our exhibitors on sustainability for the show. In 2018 we launched the Sustainability Leaders Award.
WINDPOWER isn’t just home to the industry’s established researchers, innovators, and leaders– it also hosts America’s premier collegiate wind energy competition, fostering the next generation of wind industry innovators, engineers and entrepreneurs.
The U.S. wind industry added over 5.5 gigawatts (GW) to the wind development pipeline and signing a record amount of power purchase agreements (PPAs) in the first quarter of 2018. That’s enough new wind to power millions of additional American homes.
AWEA works hard to attract new and diverse groups to the conference each year, with the goal of sparking new conversations, new connections and new ideas. However, as a first time attendee, we understand that it can be difficult to experience all WINDPOWER has to offer.
